INFORMATION: Please read these release notes carefully before updating.

 

WARNING: This version has a bug which results in spindle not starting intermittently. Do not install or use this version. 

 

CAUTION: Before updating make a backup of your current settings.

CAUTION: If updating from version 4 software or lower, all tool data in the F4 screen will be erased and the user must manually add all tool data in the F4 screen before using the machine.

 

CAUTION: If updating from version 4 software or lower the new tool changer logic for the mill linear tool changer will require all the inputs and outputs to be reassigned and calibration data entered into the tool changer settings in the F1 screen before using the machine.

 

Update Process

 

  1. Make a backup of your machine settings
  2. Save and print a copy of your printable file for checking settings after the update.
  3. Copy the software file to your flash drive inside the MASSO folder

  4. Repower your MASSO controller and access the software load screen:

      • MASSO Touch:  Tap the screen during startup

      • MASSO G3: Press F1 on the external keyboard

  5. Select the new software version and press Enter
  6. Wait for software to complete the update, approximately 45 seconds
  7. Press the Escape button to exit the software load screen.
  8. Use your Printable file to check your settings, correct if needed.

 

The Update is complete.

G38.7 – Centre Probing Cycle

 

  • Added support for G38.7 to locate the centre point using G-code commands.

Tower Light Flashing

 

  • The green tower light now flashes to attract user attention during:

    • M00 (Program Stop)
    • M01 (Optional Stop)

    • Manual tool change requests

       

Settings File Name Management

 

  • Settings files can now be renamed for easier organisation.

  • File names can start with examples such as:

    • MASSO_5-Axis_Tools

    • MASSO_Mill_Settings

  • Additional text or numbers can be added for clearer identification.

 

Improvements & Bug fixes

 

Motor Alarm Logic Enhancement

 

  • Motor alarms are now checked before homing, improving system safety.

     

Spindle Improvements

 

  • Improved spindle Auto On/Off logic.

  • Fixed an issue where the spindle could start unintentionally during probing.

     

Jump to Line Enhancements

 

  • Improved reliability and fixed multiple bugs.

  • Additional logic improvements for WaterJet Jump to Line.

     

G-code File Editor Fixes

 

  • Fixed issues related to editing and saving files.
     

Multi-Head System Enhancements

 

  • Improved logic and screen button behaviour when switching heads.

     

Axis Slaving Enhancements

 

  • Optimised axis slaving logic for better synchronisation.

     

Probing Offset Fix

 

  • Fixed a miscalculation bug introduced in v5.04b.

  • If offsets were adjusted in v5.04b, restore them to the values used in v5.03.

     

5-Axis Software Startup Fix

 

  • Fixed an issue where the 5-axis version would not start after upgrading from a 3-axis system.

     

Screenshot Capture Performance

 

  • Reduced screenshot save time from 15 seconds to under 1 second.

     

Umbrella Tool Changer Fix

 

  • Fixed an issue where the tool changer could move to the incorrect tool slot after homing.
