The Profile Cut wizard machines away material around a defined profile, leaving the profile itself uncut. Use it to clear material while protecting a specific shape.

Tool and cutting

Field	Parameter	Description
	Name	Describes the wizard; shown on the F5 – Conversational page.
	Tool No	Tool number used to machine the part.
	Tool Diameter	Diameter of the cutting tool.
	Spindle RPM	Spindle speed during machining.
	Cutting Feedrate	Feed rate for X and Y cutting moves.
	Z Feedrate	Feed rate for Z moves.
	Z Clearance	Height above the material that Z moves to when travelling between cuts.
	Depth of Cut	Material removed per pass. Number of passes = (Z Start − Z End) ÷ Depth of Cut.

Outer area

The area to machine, in work coordinates. The tool is offset inward from these edges by the tool radius.

Profile (left uncut)

The shape to protect, in work coordinates. It is not machined; the tool is offset outward from these edges by the tool radius.

	Profile Y End	Y where the profile ends.

Depth

Field	Parameter	Description
	Z Start	Z where machining begins, usually the top surface of the material.
	Z End	Z where machining finishes: the final height of the cleared area.

Buttons

	QR code help: opens this page for quick reference.
	Save: saves the parameters and returns to F5 – Conversational. If anything is missing or invalid, MASSO shows and highlights the field .
	Cancel: discards changes and returns to F5 – Conversational.
	Tab: on MASSO G3 with an external keyboard, moves to the next parameter.
