MASSO Link

MASSO Connection problems

These are connection problems at the MASSO controller

WiFi Module not found

  • Turn the power off on MASSO and unplug the WiFi module then plug it back in.
  • Make sure that the pins are correctly aligned with its socket.
  • Removing and plugging the module will clean the pins in case of manufacturing film being present and it will ensure a good contact.
  • Turn MASSO back on and check the WiFi screen.
  • If the "WiFi Module not found" message is still present please contact MASSO Support.

myWorkshop not connecting

  • When using a fixed IP address, an incorrect IP address entry will always show the Network as connected but your PC will not be able to connect to MASSO.
  • Start by removing the “Fixed IP address” tick and allow your network to assign an IP address, subnet mask and Gateway address. This way you know the values are correct and once you are up and running go back and allocate the information manually
  • If you are connecting your MASSO to a managed wireless network you may need to contact your network administrator to allow access as they may be blocking access and allocation a used IP addresses will cause network problems for both MASSO and the other equipment with the same address.
  • MASSO Link uses only the IP address and Subnet mask to connect
  • myWorkshop uses the IP address and Subnet mask and Gateway to connect
  • Other possible problem for connection to myWorkshop is the network is blocking traffic from MASSO out to the internet. If you have a phone capable of providing a WiFi hotspot you can connect your MASSO to it and see if it connects. Make sure you untick “Fixed IP address” for this test.

MASSO Link PC connection problems

These are problems associated with connecting MASSO link to your MASSO once MASSO has a connection

Firewalls

  • Permissions need to be given to allow your MASSO to get from your PC to your MASSO through the PC firewall
  • Firewall settings will prevent MASSO Link from connection to your MASSO, temporarily disable the firewall on your PC and see if it now connections
  • AntiVirus software can have built in firewalls that override the Windows Firewall. IF you are having problems connections be sure to check your AntiVirus software. Temporarily disable to test if connection works.

MASSO Link and MASSO Software versions

  • You must use the correct software version of MASSO Link to connect to MASSO. The version of MASSO Link needed will depend on the version of MASSO Software you are running.
  • The current MASSO software Version 5.07 & v5.09 require MASSO Link v2.12 and will not work with older versions.
  • MASSO Software version 1.06 requires MASSO Link v2.11
  • If you are running version 5.06 or older please update to the latest main release 5.07 or higher.
  • MASSO Link software can be downloaded from   >>>HERE<<<

Key your software up to date

  • MASSO Link locks up. Please update to the latest main release software version.

The latest software version can be found  >>>HERE<<<

Software install folder

  • Do not install MASSO Link into the "C:/Program files" directory as Windows permissions will cause issues when running MASSO Link.
  • Instead create your own directory and shown in the MASSO Link install videos and install it there.

Dual Monitor setup

  • If MASSO Link will not start and you have 2 monitors please turn one off monitor off and start MASSO Link.
  • Reposition MASSO link on your Monitor and close.
  • Turn on the 2nd monitor and restart MASSO Link. It should now open and work normally.

Upgrading MASSO Link

  • If upgrading from an earlier version of MASSO Link the old MASSO_Link.dat file must be deleted. An error message will be thrown if not done.

MASSO Link can connect but not transmit file to MASSO

This problem has been identified on some Windows 11 machines.

  • If MASSO Link connects to MASSO and displays the machine status as it is machining but you are unable to send a file to MASSO it my be that the MTU setting in windows is too small.
  • MASSO Link requires an MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) to be 1500 and smaller values will cause packets to become fragmented and cannot be read by MASSO.
  • To check your MTU setting in Windows do the following
In the windows search box type powershell and press the enter key to open Windows PowerShell
Enter the command
netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces

You can see in the above example that the MTU size the various network connections are all 1500
Ignore the Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 entry as this is not a network interface.

If your MTU value is lower than 1500 then you can change it using the command below in Windows PowerShell

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Your interface name here” mtu-1500 store=persistent

From the example above

For the WiFi interface

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Wi-Fi- 3” mtu-1500 store=persistent

For the Ethernet interface

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Ethernet 4” mtu-1500 store=persistent

MASSO link on an existing Wi-Fi network

The Following video shows how to set up MASSO link on a PC however the method of setup and use is the same across all platforms.

Use this method if you have an existing Wi-Fi network.

Make my MASSO network

Use this if you method if you do not have an existing Wi-Fi network or you wish to use a direct point to point connection from MASSO to your PC

This option is stand alone and cannot be used with the myWorkshop Pro APP.
