Using MASSO Motor Studio
Connect
Connection settings - the initial screen
After plugging in your servo drive and opening MASSO Motor Studio this will be the first screen you see.
From here you will select the port for your motor and start connection.
Tips
Unplug, then plug back in your servo motor to see which COM port number shows up.

Parameter
Parameter Settings
Parameter settings cover the individual settings for each option.
These can be adjusted by themselves, or adjusted with motor tuning and setup.

Monitor
General Monitor
This provides feedback from your motor drives on the state of your motors.
Tips
This can be used to see the position deviation - this is the figure that the motor position trails behind the pulse feed.

Osciliscope
This can be used to visualise the monitor settings and track them against other factors.

Alarm
Alarm or Fault
This screen shows any current alarms or faults.
Tips
During setup, you may change settings that require the controller to be re-powered this will show as an alarm in this screen.

Trial Run
Using this screen, you can jog your motor to test motor and driver operation
USE
Disable the drive
Set a speed command (30RPM is standard, please use caution when increasing the value)
Set acceleration ( the lower the number the faster the acceleration - the speed wich the motor spins up or down, and changes direction.)
Enable drive
Press the left or right arrows to jog your motor to the ends of its safe limits and then set the front and back. - This will set the allowable travel of the motor using the built in encoder as a reference.
You can then click next step to jog the motor.

Accessibility
Accessibility Function
This screen can be used to override outputs and factory reset servo drivers

Inertia ID
Inertia identify
This screen is a step by step to identify the intertia ratio of your motor compared to your machine setup.
USE
Follow the on screen instructions to run the test.
This will rapidly move your axis one way then the other and check the feedback
100% means the axis motor needs the full power to fully control the axis. Numbers less than this mean the motor is in full control of the axis
numbers greater than 100% are possible but it means the motor may not be in full control of the axis and needs a bigger motor.

FFT
FFT Analysis
This screen can carry out a fourier test on the motor. You many not see motion on the axis but is sweeps the harmonic range for resonance.
