1. Uses

UseHow G68 helps
Align to a partAlign a toolpath with a component that's already machined and on the table.
Plasma sheetsA heavy steel sheet sitting at an angle that can't be squared to the table: rotate the toolpath to match it and make full use of the material, without generating new G-code.
Repeat partsCut the same part at different angles by changing only the rotation angle, instead of generating new G-code for each part.

2. Parameters

WordMeaningIf omitted
XX coordinate of the rotation point (absolute).X0
YY coordinate of the rotation point (absolute).Y0
RRotation angle in degrees, from −360 to 360.–

3. Example – rotation about a point

N10 G68 X0 Y0 R45
N20 (toolpath G-code)
...
N150 G69

The three images show the same G-code with two arches; only the G68 command for the second arch changes. The first arch is the original, with no rotation. The second uses G68 with different X Y rotation points to rotate the part 45°. The G-code used is shown in the bottom-left of each image.

4. Example – no rotation point given

N10 G68 R45
N20 (toolpath G-code)
...
N150 G69

With no X or Y given, the arch rotates around X0 Y0.
