Trade Sanctions

What Are Trade Sanctions?

Trade sanctions are legal restrictions on trade with a country or regime.

They are imposed for foreign policy reasons, often to influence or respond to objectionable actions or policies. Export and import restrictions are the most common types of trade sanctions.

Australian sanction laws implement both United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions and Australian autonomous sanctions regimes.

The Charter of the United Nations does not explicitly define “sanctions”, but Article 41 is generally understood to provide a definition. It refers to measures not involving the use of armed force, including the complete or partial interruption of economic relations.

CNC Controllers Not Specifically Listed

In many cases, trade sanctions apply to specific product groups, components, technologies, sub-regions, or individuals within a country or regime.

Due to the complexity of these restrictions, MASSO takes a simplified and cautious approach. MASSO/Hind Technologies Australia Pty Ltd does not sell products into any listed sanctioned countries or regimes, regardless of the specific details of the sanctions.

Controllers in Sanctioned Areas

MASSO takes reasonable steps to ensure products are delivered to the intended end user.

If a controller is found to be located in a sanctioned region, MASSO will not provide updates, login access, or support through myWorkshop.
