Backlash compensation adds a small correction when an axis changes direction. Use it only for the small amount of backlash every mechanical system has – fix larger backlash mechanically first.

1. When to use it

Correct backlash mechanically first: find the source and repair or replace parts as needed. Every mechanical system has some minor backlash; only very small amounts should be compensated in MASSO.

2. Set the value

In the axis setup window on the F1-Setup screen, enter the measured backlash in the Backlash field. If you don't use backlash compensation, set it to 0.00.
