G30 - Move to Parking Position

CAUTION: The G30 command can be used in different combinations, and incorrect usage may result in unexpected rapid machine movement. The behaviour of the G30 command depends on whether the machine is operating in G90 Absolute mode or G91 Incremental mode, and extra care must be taken when using this command.

The G30 command is used to move the machine to a defined parking position.

A parking position is typically used to move the spindle out of the working area so that material can be safely loaded or unloaded without obstruction.

Syntax & Parameters

When the G30 command is executed, the Z axis will first move at rapid speed to its defined parking position. Once the Z axis has reached its parking height, the remaining axes will then move simultaneously to their defined parking positions.

The parking position is defined using machine coordinates in the F4 screen.

The above program will move the Z axis to its parking position first and will then move all remaining axes to their parking positions.

Parking Commands

The parking position can be activated in several ways. The G30 command can be executed directly within a G-code program. The parking position can also be activated by pressing CTRL + ALT + P, by clicking the Go to Parking Position button in the MDI screen, or by using a configured external input.

When using a configured input, the input must be held for one second to activate the parking function.
