New software versions add features and improvements, and you can install them yourself on-site. The process is the same for a first install and for an update. Each version is complete, so you do not need to install earlier versions first.

1 Back up your settings

Always back up before updating. Go to F1-Setup › Load & Save Settings, then press Save to File and Save Printable File. See Load and Save Calibration Settings.

2 Prepare the USB flash drive

• Format the drive as FAT32 with an MBR partition table (GPT is not supported). Drives over 32 GB may not support FAT32 and cannot be used.
• Create a folder named MASSO in the root of the drive.
• Copy the software file downloaded from myWorkshop into the MASSO folder.
• Use a branded flash drive. Unbranded drives are a common cause of installation problems.

3 Install the software

1. Leave the USB flash drive unplugged.
2. Power on the MASSO G3 Touch and immediately tap the screen repeatedly until the software loading screen appears. If it does not appear, power off and try again.
3. Plug in the USB flash drive.
4. Select the software version from the list and press Enter on the keyboard.
5. When loading finishes, press ESC on the screen. The MASSO G3 Touch restarts with the new software.
